Life Skills Management and Functional Literacy Programme – Roche Bois

The MEF CSR Fund in collaboration with Caritas Ile Maurice is currently implementing a Life Skills Management and Functional Literacy Programme at Roche Bois. The main objectives of the programme are:

 To build up the self-confidence of unemployed women living in pockets of poverty and bring about a positive change in attitude and mindset toward learning, work and family life

 To instil the value of education and the need for assuming their responsibility toward their children’s education

 To impart basic functional literacy skills.

Around 30 unemployed women in the region of Roche Bois will benefit from the 4-months programme which is due to be completed in August 2011. After Tranquebar last year, this is the second batch of participants to the Life Skills Management and Functional Literacy Programme.

The MEF CSR Fund intends to extend the Programme to other disadvantaged regions around the island.
