  Award Ceremony  
 

 
 

The MEF Management School and the Mauritian Institute of Management held its Award Ceremony on Wednesday 21 January 2009 at 14 00 at the MEF Management School, Ebène.

 
Some 85 participants successfully completed the following courses for the year 2007.
 
  • MBA – University of Surrey
  • MSc Human Resource Management– University of Surrey
  • MSc Management– University of Surrey
  • MSc Financial Services Management– University of Surrey
  • Diploma in Management
  • Diploma in Human Resource Management
  • Advanced Certificate in Human Resource Management
 
Mr. Anwar Joonas, President of the MEF, congratulated the participants and highlighted that MEF Management School and the Mauritian Institute of Management have worked together for over 18 years and have developed a culture of training and have trained almost 15,000 managers. He pointed out that in the face of globalisation, developing a competent and creative Human Resource base remains a key national priority. 
 
Mr Joonas stated that the personal and professional goals for our participants are to have a learning mindset, to take every opportunity and lead with integrity. He concluded his speech with the light of hope by reminding the audience of the inauguration of Barak Obama the 44th United States of America President which instils a change in mindset and promises hope not only for America but the world.
 
M. Vikramaditya Jeetah, Chairman of the Mauritian Institute of Management, for his part emphasised the importance of continuous learning in these challenging times. He stressed that training enables participants to be more skilled and confident which is translated into better performance. He elaborated on the Singaporean model, where in the face of economic crises they have invested in training and development. He ended his speech with a famous quote from Brian Tracy “there is no limits on what you can achieve with your life, except the limits you accept in your mind.”
