The Largest Internationally Recognised Framework for CSR
The MEF is the focal point for the Global Compact Local Network in Mauritius with the support and collaboration of UNDP. It actively seeks to promote responsible business practices and mainstream the concept of Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR).
It is in this perspective that the Federation, in collaboration with UNDP and ILO, launched the United Nations Global Compact (UNGC) initiative in Mauritius last year. The UNGC is the largest internationally recognised framework for CSR with 6000 participants, including over 4300 businesses in 130 countries around the world. The Global Compact Network Mauritius currently comprises 13 signatories.

The benefits of signing up to the UN Global Compact are numerous. It provides an opportunity for enterprises to demonstrate leadership and gain international recognition in the field of CSR while maximising their engagement in society notably through participation in collaborative social and environmental projects.
