To promote a learning society and to develop a centre of excellence through the provision of up to date quality education and training.
 
MEF has been involved in training since 1988 and in 1991 the Management Centre was created which later evolved into the MEF Management School in 2004. Over the years the school has been providing training in various fields to equip employees, students and members with the necessary skills to enter the labour market.
 
The MEF Management School imparts education and training that is market driven, of high quality and internationally recognised. The School offers a wide range of training programmes in Management, Entrepreneurship and Small Enterprise Development, Human Resource Management, Industrial Relations, Productivity, Supervisory Development and Finance. The School also expanded its activities over the years to cope with the increasing needs of enterprises in the private sector.
 
The programmes offered by the school are flexible and innovative to adapt to both the needs of employers and participants. Participants are now able to choose among focused programmes in fields which are becoming more and more important in our economy.

Partnership & Networking
The MEF Management School has recourse to experts in various fields due to its’ strong networking capabilities. The School has developed partnership with national and international institutions, namely the Mauritian Institute of Management, University of Mauritius, University of Birmingham, University of Surrey and Association of Business Executives (ABE). In addition, the school works in close collaboration with private sector organisations, ministries, International Labour Organisation and International Organisation of Employers.
 
Services provided by the MEF Management School are:
  • The promotion of training culture and learning society
  • Advisory services on training, legislation and opportunities
  • Assistance to members in the preparation of training plans
  • Liaison with key institutions such as the Tertiary Education Commission, the Human Resource Development Council and the Mauritius Qualifications Authority
  • Career orientation and assistance to graduates
  • Surveys and research on training
  • Advise members on assessment of training needs and provide a customised need-based training programme.
 
Other Facilities
The library which is jointly owned by Mauritius Employers’ Federation, Mauritius Chamber of Commerce and Industry and Mauritius Institute of Management has a collection of more than 5000 books, journals, articles, videocassettes, and CD-ROMs on a variety of topics such as Management, Human Resource Management, Marketing, Economics, Productivity, Finance, Quality, etc.
 
The School has also invested heavily in learning-friendly classroom and leading edge technology & equipment, which allow participants to search for journal and conference papers by subject keywords. Access to well equipped computer lab with internet facilities is available, as well as, room arrangements for group work, catering and parking facilities.
 
Our way forward is instilling a life long learning culture, revisiting our training programmes and courses and reinforcing linkages with foreign universities.
